Horseshoe Club Update

Nancy Crouse and Debbie Chandler, Co Founders

The past 18 months since the R.O.C.K. Horseshoe Club was founded have been a wonderful experience, thanks to the 22 dedicated sponsors who have adopted the care and feeding of 17 horses.  Over the past year, club members have contributed more than $32,000 for the care of horses at R.O.C.K., and the club just keeps getting stronger.

The Horseshoe Club is dedicated solely to the support of our magnificent heroes, the horses.  Every dollar that is donated to care for these horses frees up funds for therapy for all of our clients.  The categories for support in the Horseshoe Club range from $600 per year for Hoof Care to Full Care at $3,600 per year.  Donations are made on a monthly basis, ranging from $50 to $300 per month.

Horseshoe Club members are welcomed and encouraged to develop a relationship with the horse they sponsor. This unique, hands-on philanthropic opportunity is beneficial for the horse as well as the sponsor!  Horseshoe Club families can bring their children out to R.O.C.K. to get to know and love these animals. Just being around these horses is relaxing, exciting and humbling all at the same time.

The Horseshoe Club has set a goal to fully fund the care of all horses at R.O.C.K. In addition, we hope to raise funds to increase our herd of therapy horses to meet the needs of those with disabilities in our community. Did you know that R.O.C.K. has a client waiting list because we just do not have enough horses?  There is a lot of work that needs to be done, but we believe in miracles. We see them happen every day at R.O.C.K.

We invite anyone interested in helping our clients, horses, or being a part of the miracle of healing through horses to come and experience R.O.C.K. first hand. Come see the horses and talk to our staff. Sit a spell, relax a bit and watch miracles in action.  You will never forget a visit to R.O.C.K.

Give us a call - it will change your life.

MeetJane and Terry Swanson

JaneandTerrySwanson.jpgJane and Terry Swanson of Georgetown have joined the Horseshoe Club (HSC), jumping in with unparalleled support and fantastic ideas.  The Swansons have taken being a HSC member to an entirely new level as they support, encourage and mentor this club.  They believe in what R.O.C.K. is doing and are now donating their time as well as resources in promoting the care and feeding of the R.O.C.K. herd.

If you have been lucky enough to meet the Swansons, you will never forget this caring couple with a passion for R.O.C.K. They have adopted the full care of two of our beautiful horses, Cutter and Shandy.  In addition, when Terry heard that some of the soldiers could not ride because R.O.C.K. did not have the right saddle for them, he immediately purchased the correct saddle for our soldiers.

The Swansons also designed and purchased beautiful, larger plaques for the stalls of adopted horses to replace the smaller, plastic ones we are currently using.  Taking the concept a step further, Terry and Jane have designed a new "Stalls of Honor" wall to represent our horses and recognize the Club as an important support structure for R.O.C.K.

This month, Terry and Jane joined forces with Nancy Crouse and Debbie Chandler to form the Horseshoe Club Committee to focus on increasing HSC membership and improving communication with club members.

So when you see the Swansons around the arena or in the stall area, please say thank you!  If
