Administrative Assistant
Hours: Full-time, Hourly/non-exempt
- Monday – Friday
- 40 hours/week
- Some weekends and nights, depending on ROCK’s needs.

R.O.C.K. Ride on Center for Kids seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant. We are a PATH Int’l Premier accredited center in Georgetown, Texas, providing Equine-Assisted Services to children, adults, and veterans. ROCK needs a highly communicative, self-driven, and highly organized person to enhance and increase its efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Support daily tasks for department heads and CEO such as:
- Project Management, including but not limited to:
- Assisting the CEO in managing various projects and initiatives
- Coordinating project timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring that deadlines are met
- Ensure mail is picked up at the post office and the ROCK mailbox
- Coordinate and manage staff birthdays and anniversaries, ensuring recognition and celebration within the workplace
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date staff rosters, including work schedules and phone extensions to facilitate efficient communication within the organization
- Assist COO with onboarding of new staff and Board Members
- Conduct regular assessments of office supply inventory levels and anticipate supply needs based on usage or order as requested
- Order, set-up, and clean-up after staff lunches and Board Retreat
- Take notes for staff and program meetings. Take notes for other meetings as requested
- Prepare meeting rooms ensuring tables, chairs, and technology needs are met for all meetings or events (staff, program, and board meetings)
- Assist with tours as needed, both planned and unplanned
- Assist in scheduling work groups
- Supervise and train Welcome Wranglers
- In absence of Welcome Wranglers, Administrator Assistance will do the task of the Welcome Wrangler
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the Welcome Center
- Assist with Horseshoe Club Committee as needed with mailouts

Full Charge Bookkeeper
Hours: Full Time, Salaried Exempt position
- Monday – Friday 40 hours/week
- Weekends and nights depending on ROCK’s needs (approximately two Saturdays a year for special events)
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer

ROCK, Ride On Center for Kids, is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee our accounting department and to help ROCK meet our mission, vision, and core values. You will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and COO. We thrive on team collaboration at ROCK. You will have the opportunity to contribute new ideas and recommendations.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, Excel, and Word.
- Non-profit accounting experience is a plus.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Invoicing participants and processing participant payments
- Assist participants in person and over the phone with payments
- Posting deposits and disbursements
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements
- Processing bi-weekly payroll using online software, and posting payroll in QuickBooks
- Maintaining the general ledger
- Preparing monthly financial reports and providing to board of directors after review and approval by CFO and CEO
- Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedule
- Coordinating year-end audit with outside auditing firm
- Assisting outside tax firm with preparation of tax return
- Assisting CFO with annual budget preparation
- Preparing annual 1099 tax forms
Essential Functions:
- Conduct daily financial activities including deposits, accounts payable, invoices, data entry, and report preparation.
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Maintain donor, participant, and vendor files in QuickBooks.
- Report to CFO and indirect report to CEO and board officers regarding finance matters as requested.
- Timely preparation of adjusting entries and financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare budgets for grant applications and prepare financial information for grant reports.
- Special projects as assigned.

Equine Assistant
Hours: 40 hours a week, hourly, nonexempt position
- Some weekends and nights depending on ROCK’s needs
- Time to be divided between Departments
- 30 hours/week Equine Dept
- 10 hours/week as Liaison between Equine and Volunteer Depts

ROCK, Ride On Center for Kids is looking for an Equine Assistant. We are a non-profit equine facility located in Georgetown, Texas, that provides Equine-Assisted Services to children, adults, and veterans.
Under the supervision of the Equine Manager, the Equine Assistant will be responsible for the ROCK Herd in all aspects of health, wellness, training, and conditioning.
We are looking for someone with a positive “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail with a high degree of initiative and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Equine Manager in maintaining health and safety of ROCK herd. Follow and uphold all PATH Intl. and ROCK approved practices, policies, and procedures
- Assist Equine Manager in all aspects of the care and wellness of the herd
- Be available to ROCK staff and volunteers for diagnosis and guidance of horse health issues
- Participate in both Mounted and Ground Conditioning Teams
- Partner with Equine Manager to exercise the herd as needed
- Partner with staff to exercise the herd as needed
- Enter and maintain equine information in Equine files and Salesforce
- Assist with updating and maintaining equine Saddle Chart and Equine Partnership Chart as needed
- Assist in identifying and evaluating prospective equine partners
- Assist in assessing current ROCK herd for equine partners that may need to retire
- Assist in the training of trial horses
- Act as the Liaison between the Equine and Volunteer Departments:
- Assist in mentoring new and current Horse Handlers (HH)
- Coordinate HH mentorship program including
- Communication with prospective HH mentees
- Scheduling mentees into program
- Following up with Volunteer department on status of mentees
- Assist Equine Manager in transporting herd to special events
- Other duties assigned by the Equine Manager, Program Director and the CEO
Required Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- Advanced knowledge of equine health and well being
- Demonstrate proficiency in riding skills
- Demonstrate proficiency of horse care and behavior
- Experience in equine training and management
- Experience in transporting horses (bumper pull and gooseneck trailers)
- Ability to administer meds – oral, IM, sub-Q
Special Requirements
- Successfully complete pre-employment background check
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (must be current or completed within 1 month of employment)

Position Details: CTRIs will teach between 20-25 participants in a mix of private, semi- private, and group therapeutic riding lessons each week while supervising and providing direction to program volunteers. CTRIs will also assist with program-related activities (such as schooling horses, other equine needs, horse handling/sidewalking, and special events). We are looking for someone with a positive “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail with a high degree of initiative and problem-solving skills.
Instructor Responsibilities
- Develop effective lesson plans and instruct clients each week to develop horsemanship skills
- Keep daily attendance and notes in Salesforce for each participant according to ROCK procedures
- Create goals for each participant and ensure communication with participant/ parents/caregiver/guardians regarding progress toward each goal at the end of each riding lesson
- Engage participants in lessons to increase goal attainment, motivation, joy, and
- Instruct in summer camps, volunteer training, and other programs/events throughout the year
- Assist with schooling horses both mounted and unmounted, feeding and any other equine needs
- Follow and uphold all PATH and ROCK-approved practices, policies, and procedures
- Mentor instructors in training, interns, and volunteers, as needed
- Consistently communicate with volunteers who are assisting during lessons to keep them engaged and involved in the lesson
- Assist in lessons as needed as a sidewalker or horse handler
- Other duties assigned by the Program Director and the CEO
Preferred Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- 2 years of experience teaching at a PATH accredited facility
- Experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in horse care and behavior

- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
