R.O.C.K., Ride On Center for Kids has provided equine assisted activities and therapies to children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities in Central Texas for over 15 years. Our vision is to be a dynamic leader in equine-assisted activities through service, research and higher learning. Our mission is to improve independence and life skills, in partnership with the horse.

Serving over 200 clients every week, we are recognized as one of the largest non-profit hippotherapy and therapeutic riding centers in Texas. We offer programs that range from hippotherapy, therapeutic riding, Horses for Heroes, and equine facilitated learning programs for schools, juvenile programs, residential homes, and individuals. Our clients see improvement in many aspects of their life, from muscle tone, strength, flexibility, balance, cognitive and behavior improvements, along with emotional improvements. The relationship of a person with the horse is a profound and genuine therapy method that continues to show wonderful results.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

We are looking for a FEW GOOD VOLUNTEERS!

If you have some extra time and would like to put it to a good cause, working with either children, young adults, adults, or horses, we have a place for you! If you are interested in learning more about our volunteer opportunities, please contact our Volunteer Director, Francesca Rolando.

Current Need includes Sidewalkers, Horse Handlers, Reception and General Office Assistance!

Recent Events

Third Annual Ride for R.O.C.K.

The Third Annual Ride for R.O.C.K. was a lot of fun! Randy Joines, President of the Reguladores Caballo de Hierro Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and Dawn Copeland, Ride for R.O.C.K. Chairman, welcomed everyone to the event followed by the singing of our national anthem by Sydney Michele. Out on the Town Luxury Shuttle transported the riders to R.O.C.K., for a quick tour of the barn and the ride began at 11:30 a.m.!

At the reception, riders and guest walked through and bid on silent auction items, ate barbecue listened to music by LIXBOX and participated in multiple drawings. The draw down, where the last ticket is the winner, was a huge hit! "The Auctioneer" made the live auction very interactive and entertaining. Thank you for everyone that came out and supported R.O.C.K., Ride On Center for Kids at this year's Ride for R.O.C.K.!

2013 Spring Horseshoe Club Appreciation Party

At this year's Spring HSC Appreciation Party members were able to meet, greet and groom their horses. They ate a BBQ lunch, socialized, learned to how to properly groom their horse and walked he or she through an obstacle course. The quality time was great bonding for both the members and the horses! One member said "That was very rewarding" after leading her horse back to his stall.
